Xybix Proudly Achieves GREENGUARD Certification to create and maintain a working environment that is healthier for our employees.

Littleton, CO, December 10, 2009 – All Xybix Systems, Inc. ergonomic, height adjustable workstations are now GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified® – an industry-independent certification designed to protect human health by improving indoor air quality, the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) announced today.

We are proud to announce the achievement of GREENGUARD Certification. The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) has developed stringent standards to improve human health and quality of life through programs that improve indoor air quality.

Understanding that consumers are turning increasingly towards healthy and environmentally friendly products, Xybix Systems Inc. initiated the process for its products to become GREENGUARD Indoor Air Quality Certified, a category including low emitting interior building materials, furnishings and finish systems. All GREENGUARD Certified Products are tested for their chemical emissions performance and can be found in the GREENGUARD Online Product Guide.

The certification is significant to Xybix because it is an important component to people’s health and should not be overlooked. Products are categorized and tested before they are certified. Xybix ErgoPower Workstations have been tested for emissions of formaldehyde, volatile organic compounds, aldehydes and other pollutants using stringent environmental chamber protocols. GREENGUARD Certification is broadly recognized and accepted by a number of "green" building programs, including the United States Green Building Council's (USGBC) LEED® program. The workstation meets emission level requirements of LEED credit 4.5 and the ANSI/BIFMA X7.1-2007 Conformance Standard (7). The not-for profit, GREENGUARD Environmental Institute, is an ANSI Accredited Standards Developer, establishing acceptable indoor air standards for interior products indoor environments and buildings. “Xybix Systems, Inc. has a mission to create and maintain a working environment that is healthier for our employees, the community in which we work and the earth on which we live.”

The testing takes place in dynamic environmental chambers designed to simulate product use in typical indoor environments. The environmental chamber operation and testing protocols follow scientific principles established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and its Environmental Technology Verification Program.

The idea behind high performance ergonomics promotes a healthy work environment. Great indoor air quality simply rounds out the package and enables our client’s employees to continually function in their highest productivity zone.

"The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute applauds Xybix on its commitment to furthering our mission of improving indoor air quality,” says Dr. Marilyn Black, Founder of GEI. "Products such as the ErgoPower Tables certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute have minimal emissions so that contractors, building owners and consumers can be assured that the products which they are buying are healthier for their indoor environments."

“We strive to do more than provide height adjustable ergonomic workstations, we understand the important role indoor air quality plays in the productivity of workers,” said Barry Carson, President of Xybix Systems, Inc of Littleton, Colorado.

Xybix is committed to producing better, safer products and encourages all of our customers to pay attention to GREENGUARD Certification and make better indoor air quality a requirement when choosing communication center furniture.
