Eco-Friendly Operations

Your Workstation Could be Making You Sick.

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is an issue that must be addressed by architects, designers and manufacturers of furnishings and equipment.  Nine states have mandated green construction requirements for public buildings.  The Federal government's General Services Administration will be adding IAQ requirements to its furniture specifications.  It is the responsibility of every manufacturer of PACS furniture to transition to low-emitting “green” component parts of their product as quickly as possible.
In 2004, the International Agency for Research of Cancer (IARC) -- a division of the World Health Organization -- changed the designation of formaldehyde from a “probable” carcinogen to a known carcinogen.  This action accelerates and supports the need for further development of office and institutional furnishings which have lower formaldehyde emissions, which in turn will contribute to the development of “greener” products.
Xybix is dedicated to producing and providing environmentally friendly solutions.  Here are just some of our “green practices:"

1. Recycled fabrics available
2. Water based adhesives
3. GREENGAURD Indoor Air Quality Certified® laminates
4. Powdercoat paint
5. No added formaldehyde core material options
6. Only use ROHS certified electronic components and cabling

Xybix Is Now GREENGUARD Certified

The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute (GEI) is a third-party organization that focuses on improving indoor air quality and reducing chemical exposure by certifying products for low chemical emissions. Products such as paints, flooring, furniture, interior building materials and cleaners are tested and verified to meet GEI’s stringent indoor air quality standards and must undergo ongoing verification and yearly re-certification. The GREENGUARD Certification mark provides confidence to architects, designers and specifiers that they are selecting healthier products. All certified products can be found in the free, online product guide at www.greenguard.org. GREENGUARD Certification is broadly recognized and accepted by numerous green building programs, such as the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED green building certification program, Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS), Green Guide for Healthcare, and many more.

"The GREENGUARD Environmental Institute applauds Xybix on its commitment to furthering our mission of improving indoor air quality,” says Dr. Marilyn Black, Founder of GEI. "Products such as the ErgoPower Tables certified by the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute have minimal emissions so that contractors, building owners and consumers can be assured that the products which they are buying are healthier for their indoor environments."
